Rachelle Hope Saltzman
Rachelle Hope (Riki) Saltzman is executive director of the Oregon Folklife Network and lecturer in the University of Oregon’s Folklore and Public Culture program. Since 1982, Saltzman has worked as a public folklorist, most notably at the Iowa Arts Council and the Bureau of Florida Folklife Programs. Her publications have focused on foodways, festival and politics, cultural memory, ethnicity, and identity formation. She is author of A Lark for the Sake of Their Country: The 1926 General Strike Volunteers in Folklore and Memory, winner of the Wayland D. Hand Prize for Outstanding Book in Folklore and History from the American Folklore Society.
