Erik Akpendonu
Erik Akpendonu is an art and architecture teacher at the Ateneo de Manila University Department of Fine Arts, he studied architecture at Lippe University of Applied Sciences in Detmold, Germany. Working in architectural bureaus in Germany, West Africa, and Malaysia, he participated in various construction projects in those countries and in the Middle East. As Research Associate at the Ateneo Institute of Philippine Culture, he has been conducting extensive surveys of historic Filipino architecture, first in Bohol, and later in Metro Manila as Project Manager of the Architectural Heritage of Manila Project. He has published extensively on heritage, culture, urbanism, and architecture, and is co-author (with Czarina Saloma) of Casa Boholana: Vintage Houses of Bohol (2011). As a Trustee and Treasurer of ICOMOS Philippines, he actively advocates the appreciation and preservation of the Philippines` rich built heritage.
