He is author of Greater Freedom: The Evolution of the Civil Rights Struggle in Wilson, North Carolina and coeditor of An Unseen Light: Black Struggles for Freedom in Memphis, Tennessee and From Rights to Lives: The Evolution of the Black Freedom Struggle.
