Faisal Oddang was born in Wajo, South Sulawesi in 1994. He is a novelist, short-story writer and poet whose works have received many literary awards. Oddang was a winner of the 2014 ASEAN Young Writers Award Short Story Writing Competition and his novel Puya ke Puya was announced the best novel of 2015 by Tempo Magazine.
