Daijaku Kinst

Daijaku Judith Kinst was ordained in the Soto Zen tradition in 1988 and is a dharma successor in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki. After completing formal priest training she obtained an MA in psychology, and is a licensed psychotherapist. During this time she trained as a chaplain in UCSF Medical Center’s Clinical Pastoral Education program. She completed her Ph.D. in 2004. Along with teaching classes in Buddhist Pastoral Care, Buddhism and Psychology, and Zen Buddhism, she is Director of the Buddhist Chaplaincy Program. She is also coteacher of the Ocean Gate Zen Center in Capitola, California
