Josie Lopez
Josie Lopez is the head curator and curator of art at the Albuquerque Museum. In addition to curating temporary art exhibitions, she oversees the collection and the permanent exhibition Common Ground: Art in New Mexico. Lopez completed a BA in history and a Masters in teaching at Brown University. She completed her PhD at the University of California, Berkeley. Lopez’s research and curatorial interests include examining art as a discursive agent in the political arena, the intersections of art and the environment, modern and contemporary Latin American art, and the history of Mexican and New Mexican art.
