Corgan served as chairman of the Geology Department at Austin Peay State University and was the author of Vertebrate Fossils of Tennessee and Geology in Antebellum Tennessee and coauthor of Tennessee’s Prehistoric Vertebrates, Natural Bridges of Tennessee, and Radiometric Ages of Tennessee Rocks.
