Frederick W. Gooding Jr.

Frederick W. Gooding Jr. is the Dr. Ronald E. Moore Endowed Professor in Humanities and associate professor of African American studies within the John V. Roach Honors College at Texas Christian University. Featured in national outlets such as the New York Times, USA Today, and TIME magazine, Gooding is a professor of popular culture who engages audiences on subtle racial patterns "hidden in plain sight." He is also author of Black Oscars: From Mammy to Minny, What the Academy Awards Tell Us about African Americans and Raceand Media Literacy, Explained (or Why Does the Black Guy Die First?).
